Levieux

Levieux from Veteris, is a surname of French Breton origin linked to a natural branch of the old House of Valois. The name is literally translated as "the Old" or "the Elder" in medieval times it was a representative term of the leader of a clan or a dynastic house; today the term is utilised in many French-speaking countries to indicate the oldest living member of a family. Most of the current members of the Levieux family are descendents of "Jean Levieux Valois des Orléans" that became known as the old family of Levieux de la Vallée.
The ethimology of the name comes from: the Latin terminology of the "Veteris" a word indicating "the Old man, the Leader" as in High king or DUX VETERIS from the Levieux's primary origin and direct descendance from the Kings and dukes of Brittany family tree.
