Lestes uncifer is a species of damselfly in family Lestidae.
It is found in Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, possibly Burundi, and possibly the Republic of the Congo. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, dry savanna, moist savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, shrub-dominated wetlands, swamps, freshwater lakes, intermittent freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, and intermittent freshwater marshes. They are of the order of the dragonflies (Odonata) and are commonly known as "Spreadwings."[1] While most damselflies rest with their wings folded together, most members of the family Lestidae hold them at an angle away from their bodies.
