Leptoconopinae is a subfamily of biting midges in the family Ceratopogonidae. The larvae are recognized by their unique sclerites of the head, and by their mouthparts, also unique among the Ceratopogonidae. Some authorities place the genus Leptoconops in its own family, Leptoconopidae.
