Legend were a heavy metal band, formed 1980 in Jersey. The band did not enjoy the success of other New Wave of British Heavy Metal bands such as Iron Maiden or Def Leppard, and their first recordings are produced in a local Jersey studio.
Legend were known for its sharp and sometimes political lyrics, with song titles such as "Hiroshima" and "Sabra & Chatila". Musically they blended traditional heavy metal with touches of jazz, and with Black Sabbath-influenced riffs in the first album. Also, Haworth has been known as saying his greatest influence was Pink Floyd.
