Lecanicillium is a genus of fungi within the order Hypocreales and is described as anamorphic Cordycipitaceae; 21 species are currently described[1]. These are entomopathogenic fungus species, that were previously widely known as Verticillium lecanii (Zimmerman) Viegas [2].
