Lantiq is an international fabless semiconductor business of approximately 1,000 people. It was formed in 2009 when Infineon Technologies sold its Wireline Communications Division.
Lantiq's central functions and the executive management team are located adjacent to the Infineon campus in Neubiberg near Munich in Germany but Lantiq has nearly 20 other locations worldwide:
Lantiq makes devices for Next Generation Networks and the Digital Home and, via its Infineon heritage, has a over 20 year record of technology development. Its solutions (which comprise of the devices and software) are deployed by major carrier and found in Access networks and home networks in every region of the world and in 2009 the company shipped more than 200 million mixed signal and digital devices.
Lantiq's SoC (system-on-chip) solutions address a variety of technologies, including all flavours of xDSL, VoIP, wireless LAN, Gigabit Ethernet and GPON. Based on its sales Lantiq claims to be the world's number one supplier of access network integrated circuits. In 2011 Lantiq launched its first home networking chips compliant with the ITU-T G.hn standard.
Lantiq is a private company, its investor is Golden Gate Capital, a leading private equity firm. Also T-Venture, the venture capital firm of Deutsche Telekom, made a strategic investment in Lantiq.
Lantiq's CEO is Christian Wolff, CFO is Klaus Gohlke, CTO is Dr Martin Schenk and Dominik Bilo is COO.
