Langhnaj is a village in Mehsana district in the state of Gujarat, India.[1]
Langhnaj is situated about 15 km to the north of Nardipur. Some of the neighboring destinations are Jagudan, Gothva and Dangarwa. Tourist destinations such as VShri Mehsana Teerth and Vijapur Teerth are accessible from here.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (42 km) and Mehsana Junction Railway Station are the nearest access points.
The local administrative body is called the Panchayat and it is one of the 15 in Mehsana sub-district.

As of 2001[update] India census, Langhnaj had a population of 9363: 4909 males and 4454 females.[1]
Bones of wild animals dating back to the Mesolithic period (2550-2185 BCE) have been excavated from sites in Langhnaj. These include a canid (probably wolf), mongoose, rhinoceros, wild boar, chital, hog deer, swamp deer, nilgai and blackbuck. The presence of wild cattle has also been suggested. The animals bones at Langhnaj suggest that the area was covered by a combination of savannah and forest with interspersed wetlands.[2]
Initial excavation and investigation at Langhnaj was in 1944-63 and was conducted at andhario Timbo or Ravalian no Timbo by Department of Environmental Archeology , University of London and Deccan college Post graduate & Research Institute of PUNA.[3]
A historic temple of Pimpleshwar Mahadev, Saldi is 4KM from here and most of people from Langhnaj town regularly participate in their religious celebration.
Agriculture is the main source of income for this village with groundnut and mustard being the main cash-crops. The village is also located within the Cambay rift Basin, a petroleum-rich, narrow, elongated rift graben, extending from Surat in the south to Sanchor in the north.[4]
