Karlsbad is an administrative area in the district of Karlsruhe, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated in the northern Black Forest, 13 km southeast of Karlsruhe, and 15 km west of Pforzheim. The largest town in Karlsbad is Langensteinbach, where its administration offices are situated. Other constituent towns and villages include Spielberg, Ittersbach, Mutschelbach, and Auerbach.
Langensteinbach, Spielberg and Ittersbach are all connected to each other and to the city of Karlsruhe by the Albtalbahn, an electric railway that forms part of the Karlsruhe Stadtbahn. Ittersbach is the terminus of this branch of the Albtalbahn, which operates as line S11.[2]
