Langarud (Persian: لنگرود, also Romanized as, Langarūd, Langerūd, and Langarood; also known as Shahr-e Langarūd)[1] is a city in and the capital of Langarud County, Gilan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 65,369, in 18,875 families.[2]
Langarud is located on the south coast of the Caspian Sea. The small village Espili, the main location of the film Gilaneh, or Gilane (directed by Rakhshan Bani Etemad and Mohsen Abdolvahhab), is situated in the South of Langerood. One of the most important touristy attractions of Langarud is Chamkhaleh coasts. It provides guests with jockeying and yachting and beautiful beach landscape. Javadian Company is located in Langarud.
