LOL: Laughing Out Loud is an upcoming American remake of the 2008 French film of the same name and directed and written by Lisa Azuelos. It stars Miley Cyrus, Ashley Greene and Demi Moore.

After 15-year-old Lola is dumped by her boyfriend, she sets her sights on his best friend. She begins her sexual awakening, and experiments with drugs. During Lola's tribulations, her oblivious 40-year-old mother struggles to move on from her divorce.[2]
The film is a remake of the 2008 French film of the same name.[5] The remake was written and directed by Lisa Azuelos, who also wrote and directed the original. Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher of Double Feature Films and Tish Cyrus produced.[4] Filming took place in late 2010 in Detroit, Chicago and Paris.[2][3] A scene in the film shows Miley Cyrus smoking marijuana was cut after a video circulated around the internet in December 2010 of Cyrus smoking the psychoactive plant salvia divinorum.[6][7]
As of January 2012, a release date has not been set.[1]
