LAN Perú S.A. is an airline based in Lima, Peru.[1] It is a subsidiary of Chilean publicly-traded company LAN Airlines (NYSE: LFL), which owns 49% of the airline. It operates scheduled domestic and international services. Its main base is on the grounds of Jorge Chávez International Airport.[2] LAN Perú is the dominant airline in Peru, controlling 73.4% of the domestic market.[3]

The airline was established in July 1998 and began operations on July 2, 1999 with domestic services from Jorge Chávez International Airport to Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, Cusco and Rodriguez Ballon International Airport, Arequipa. The launch of LAN Peru marked the reappearance of a major national airline in Peru after the demise of AeroPeru, Compañia de Aviación Faucett and others. An international service to Miami International Airport was added on November 15, 1999. It became a subsidiary of LAN in September 2002. It is owned by LAN Airlines (49%), ER Larraín (30%) and Inversiones Aéreas (21%) and has 1,500 employees (at March 2007).[2] The brand "LAN Peru" means the same brand as the parent company, LAN Airlines as Lineas Aeras Nacionales del Peru, abbreviated as LAN. Nowadays, the company offers a range of 25 destinations in Peru, the rest of South America, North America and Europe. LAN Peru codeshares with American Airlines and Alaska Airlines to U.S. destinations, British Airways and Iberia to European destinations, to Brazilian internal destinations with TAM Linhas Aéreas, to Asian destinations with Korean Air, and some destinations in Australia and New Zealand with Qantas. As of August 1, 2006, LAN Peru merged first and business classes of service into a single class, named Premium Business.
LAN offers Premium Business class aboard the Boeing 767-300ER on flights to North America and Europe. Premium Business was introduced in 2006. It features full flat beds, privacy dividers, and a personal AVOD entertainment system.
LAN's Premium Economy is offered on flights within South America aboard the Airbus A319. This class has 12 seats with more legroom than the standard economy class and a hot meal.
Economy class is offered on all of LAN's Boeing 767's with a 2-3-2 and Airbus A319's with a 3-3 configuration. This class was also renovated in 2006 it includes regulable headrests and footrests, along with seats that recline and slide.
LAN Peru shares the same livery offered by LAN Airlines, and changed the previous livery that contained the name "LAN Peru". Today's livery is a white background, and a blue part of the rear area of the airliner. The tail of the airplane is designed with a white star and a red line below it representing the flag of Chile, the father airline. Below the white star is a red line to represent the two main colors of the Peruvian flag as a secondary Peruvian carrier.
LAN Peru serves 21 international destinations to North America, South America, Europe and the Caribbean as well as 14 domestic destinations. On July 1, 2010 LAN Peru became the first South American airline to fly to San Francisco non-stop. Perviously, the Brazilian airline Varig used to operate the route with a technical stop in Los Angeles.
LAN Peru operates aircraft from LAN's fleet with Chilean registration for both domestic and international flights. The aircraft currently used by LAN Peru are Airbus A319 and Boeing 767-300ERs. Previously operated aircraft include the Airbus A320 and the Boeing 737-200, which were registered in Bermuda and flew the Peruvian flag.

LANPASS is LAN Peru's Frequent Flyer Program, shared with the parent company LAN Airlines. There are currently over two million members in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Canada and the United States. The program goes under three stages of benefits of LAN Peru and Oneworld which include Oneworld Ruby or Premium, Oneworld Sapphire or Premium Silver and Oneworld Emerald or Commodore.
