Lúcio Wagner Freitas de Souza, known simply as Lúcio Wagner (born on 15 June 1976), is a naturalized Bulgarian professional footballer, originally from Brazil. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Wagner spent eight seasons with Bulgarian side Levski Sofia. He holds Bulgarian citizenship.

Club career

He has previously played for Sevilla FC, SL Benfica and Cherno More.

PFC Levski Sofia

Wagner joined Levski Sofia in 2003. With Levski he reached 1/4 finals of UEFA Cup in 2005–06. Next season, Levski Sofia with Wagner, reached the group-stage of UEFA Champions League, becoming the first Bulgarian team that reached the groups.

He became one more time a Champion of Bulgaria in 2009.

After 7 years Lúcio Wagner was released from Levski because of his age and injures.

International career

In May 2006 during the Kirin Cup tournament he made his debut for the Bulgaria national team against Japan.
