Kökjanggak (also Kok-Jangak or Kok-Dzhangak, Kyrgyz: Көкжаңгак, meaning in Kyrgyz "green walnut", pronounced [kœkd͡ʒɑɴɢɑ́q]) is a town of about 10,000 in the Suzak District of the Jalal-Abad Oblast of western Kyrgyzstan, located at a distance of about 35 km of the regional centre city Jalal-Abad.

Kökjanggak originated as a coal-mining settlement in the beginning of 20-th century. The upper strata of coal of Kok-Jangak coal deposit have been mined on a small-scale until the October Revolution. During the Civil War in Russia the mine was destroyed by basmachi and extraction was suspended. During the First Five-Year Plan new drift mines were developed and access railroad from Jalal-Abad built. This resulted in rapid increase of the coal production. In 1943 Kökjanggak became a town.[2]
The population of Kökjanggak was 10,341 in 2004 including 8,400 - Kyrgyz, 640 - Uzbek, 540 - Russian, 210 - Tatar, 140 - Kazakh, and 411 - other nationalities.
