Kyoichi Inoue
Kyoichi Inoue (井上 強一 born 10 September 1935 in Teshio,[1] Hokkaido, Japan)[2] is a 10th dan[3] Yoshinkan aikido master. He was an uchideshi under Yoshinkan founder Gozo Shioda,[2] in what became the Yoshinkan senshusei course.[2]
He received his 9th dan from Shioda Gozo in 1992.[2] Shioda died in 1994; Inoue was named the new director (kanchou 館長) of the Yoshinkan in 2002.[4] His 10th dan certificate was issued by International Budo Federation in April 2009,[3] as he had resigned from the Yoshinkan effective 30 March 2006 following an internal dispute.[2] He is currently kanchou of Aikido Shinwakan (合氣道親和館),[1] which he established in 2010.[5]

Aikido was founded by Morihei Ueshiba and gained prominence directly before and after World War II.
In the first 40 post-war years, his original students established their own schools, or gained renown as part of the Aikikai.
