Kunwinjku, also spelt Gunwinggu or Gunwinjgu and also known as Bininj Gunwok or Mayali, is an Australian Aboriginal language in northern Australia. Speakers live primarily in western Arnhem Land, including the township of Gunbalanya.
Kunwinjku is composed of a number of dialects linked in a dialect chain spoken in communities from the Liverpool and Mann River districts in the east, across the Arnhem Land Plateau in the centre, and to Kakadu National Park in the west, that is sometimes known as Bininj Gun-wok to distinguish it from Kunwinjku proper, the primary dialect. Some of the other dialects, such as Kundedjnjenghmi and Gundjeihmi, are seriously endangered.
Dialects are Kunwinjku, Kuninjku, Kundedjnjenghmi, Kune, Gundjeihmi and Mayali
