Kundabung is a locality on the North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. The North Coast railway line passes through, and a station existed at the site between 1917 and 1974.[1] At the 2006 census, Kundabung had a population of 586 people.[2] The town's name is derived from an aboriginal meaning 'wild apples'.[3]
Kundabung is also the home town of the infamous walking team "The Bungers" (nothing to do with urban dictionary's definition mind you). The teams founding members were born and raised in kundabung but have now forsaken their hometown for fame and fortune in the city of Sydney. Other members of the team come from the nearby metropolis of Port Macquarie and our close neighbour, San Francisco. While the team has not walked competitively yet, there isnt a day they haven't walked somewhere, even just to the fridge. It's also not uncommon for certain members to make a competition out of anything and keep playing until they win that competition, sadly they won't be able to use this method during the oxfam walk.
