Dr. Ella was born to a Telugu agricultural family in Tamil Nadu, India. He is married to Suchitra and has a son and a daughter.
Dr. Ella, Holds M.S. from the University of Hawaii and Doctor of Philosophy (1987 to 1993), from College of Agricultural sciences, Department of Plant Pathology at University of Wisconsin, Madison, U.S.A. Later, Dr. Ella has held the position of Assistant professor, at Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. With expertise in Yeast molecular genetics, he founded, Bharat Biotech in the year 1996.[2]
