Kornberg is a German noble family name meaning "corn mountain" originally the region of Hesse in Germany. The house was founded by the Knights of Kornberg. The Knights was a part of the Teutonic order, how was fighting for the Papal State and the Pope. Around 1200 the order coverted to Lutheranism and started fighting agaist ther past rulers. The Knights was later a part of the establishment of Prussia. Leater the Knights of Kornberg was rewarded for there service by Frederick I of Prussia and was given nobiety rank in his coutry.
During the Napoleonic Wars was the House of Kornberg on the side of the germans states against Napoleon I. Meny of the Prussian generals was related to the Kornbergers. Thay was described as brave and dominat, and sometimes mad. Becouse of there bravery during the war, thay got the motto: Loyal zu seinen eigenen (Loyal to its own).
The Kornbergers served the monarchs of Prussia later the German empire for many years. After the monarchy in the German Empire was abolished in 1918, did many of House of Kornberg leave becouse of fear to their one life. But the Konbergers never sufferd for their involvens with the German aristocrats.
After the year 1900 did many members of the House traveld around the world. Many settled in USA, Norway, UK and Austria.
