Kondagaon is a town and a municipality in Bastar district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Kondagaon had a population of 26,772. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Kondagaon has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 55%. In Kondagaon, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Kondagaon lies on NH43 and can easily be reached from Raipur or Jagdalpur. There are frequent buses travelling to these places and to smaller villages in the vicinity.
Kondagaon is a manufacturing centre of handicrafts that are sold throughout India under the name of Bastar Art. The local artisans are working mainly with the Lost-wax casting process to produce bell metal sculptures with scenes from the traditional life of the Indian Adivasi people.
