Kitinen is a river of Finland. It flows for 278 kilometres. It is a tributary of Kemijoki. The river flows trough the municipalities of Kittilä, Pelkosenniemi and Sodankylä in finnish Lapland. The reservoir of Porttipahta is located in the upper course of the river. The biggest tributary of Kitinen is Luiro.
