Dicynodontoides is a genus of dicynodont from the Late Permian of South Africa, Tanzania and India. Kingoria, a junior synonym, has been used more widely in the literature, especially recently, than the more obscure Dicynodontoides and is less likely to be confused with the similar sounding, but distantly related Dicynodon.[1] Angielczyk et al suggest that it may be useful to petition the ICZN to suppress Dicynodontoides in favor of Kingoria.[1] Only two species are recognized: Dicynodontoides recurvidens from South Africa, and Dicynodontoides nowacki from Tanzania. A specimen found in India was not assigned a specific level.[2]
