The area has two secondary schools and a number of primary schools. The biggest is Arnold Hill Comprehensive School, which has 1700 pupils. Christ the King School is right next to Arnold Hill and is the second school. The most notable primary school is the Killisick School, which despite the name, feeds students to the Redhill Comprehensive School, in Redhill, as it is closer than the Killisick secondary schools.
The figures show incidents of crime remained at 10 or below per 1,000 population from October 2005 through June 2006. However, an increase was seen in July to 30 and in September to 50 per 1,000 population; peaks during these months are also seen in all wards within the borough, but levels returned to the lower rates in August and October 2006. Killisick is served by three buses, the 56, 58 and 59. All are operated by Nottingham City Transport. The 58 and 59 leave from a Bus Terminus on Killisick Road, near Kilbourne Road. The 59 covers Howbeck Road, Rolleston Drive, and Sandfield. The 58 covers Killisick Road, Homefield, and Surgeys Lane, and the 56 covers Coppice and Gedling Road. All the routes are part of the NCT Lime Line.[2] There was also the 57, which ran the same route as the 59 through Killisick, but was retired due to low passenger counts. The area is also served by a number of taxi companies, the largest being Alert Cars.[3]
Arnold Town FC used to play at Gedling Road, in Killisick, however they now play at Eagle Valley near Calverton. Football is also played at Killisick Recreation ground, where there is also a play area and tarmac pitch, and a Funfair is held on the ground every year.[4]
