Khondakar Ashraf Hossain is one of the leading poets,[1][2] essayist and translator of Bangladesh. Born in Jamalpur, Bangladesh, in 1950, he was educated at University of Dhaka and Leeds University. He is currently Professor of English at University of Dhaka. He has published seven books of poetry in Bangla and three collections of essays.
Dr Hossain regularly translates from Bangla to English and from German and English to Bangla.
Khondakar Ashraf Hossain is the Editor of a little magazine, Ekobingsha, a literary journal founded in 1985 with its main focus on the new poetry of Bangladesh.
