Khanauri
Khanauri is a town and a nagar panchayat in Sangrur district in the Indian state of Punjab.
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Khanauri had a population of 10,977. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Khanauri has an average literacy rate of 55%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 61%, and female literacy is 48%. In Khanauri, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age. In Khanauri passes the Bhakhra river, Ghaggar and the drain. There are three temples (Hanuman, Shivji and Naina Devi) and one Gurdwara Sahib in the main road in front of Anmol Photo Studio. This town is well connected Jalandhar to Delhi by road NH71.
