Khalil Pasha
For the World War I Ottoman military commander, see
Halil Kut.
Khalil Pasha was governor of Ottoman Egypt from 1631 to 1632.[1] He was known for his "gentle, impartial, and prosperous administration"[2] which was in large contrast to the rapacious administration of his predecessor, Mousa Pasha (Musa Pasha).[2] In Shawwal 1041 A.H. (May 1632 C.E.) while governor, he sent an expeditionary force to the Hejaz to retake Mecca from Yemani tribesmen under Al-Mu'ayyad Muhammad.[3]
