Kevin started listening to Metallica in his early teens and began his first band while at the age of sixteen.[3] In March 2005, he co-founded the band, Evans Blue, which spawned two albums, The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume and The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends.
Due to unresolved issues, Kevin was voted out of Evans Blue and on July 28, 2008, he published a post on his MySpace page saying he is "Formerly of Evans Blue." This was confirmed by Evans Blue on their MySpace page. Parker Lauzon of the band sent out a MySpace bulletin clarifying that Matisyn was voted out of the band due to his inability to make good decisions for the band. In the bulletin, Parker is quoted as saying that "We did not choose anyone over him he was simply voted out, not only because of musical differences but business differences as well. He simply was not making good decisions for this band anymore and we as a group have decided to move on."
Kevin replied saying:
“ | uggh, political correctness makes me sick, musical differences...PLEASE
Ok, they didnt kick me out cuz of musical differences. They kicked me out cuz I'm a dick and I was acting like a dick. It's typical to say something retarded like that when you don't want to be straight up. It's a really LONG story and I don't want to go into it all but I basically said something along the lines that someone had to go and it was gonna be me or him. |
