Kawelomakualua was the 17th Alii Aimoku of Kauai. He ruled as titular King or chief of Kauai. He was born about 1655. He was also called Kawelomakalua, in other sources.
He was son of Kawelomahamahaia, 16th Alii Aimoku of Kauai by his wife Kapohinakalani. He followed his father as Moi, the principal royal residence being at Wailua. He is mentioned in legends with almost equal veneration to that of his father and with the same lack of details. Kawelomakalua married his sister Kaawihikalani and had twin sons Kawelopeekoa and Kaweloaikanaka. His offspring were of the Pio rank. These two could be compare to the Pio twins, Kamanawa and Kameeiamoku, doubtlessly descendant from a later period. His son Kaweloainaka succeed him as king of Kauai.
