Kawelolauhuki, Kauaian Princess or Chiefess, was the Queen Consort of Oahu, being the wife of Kahoowahaokalani, 17th Alii Aimoku of Oahu. Also sometimes referred to as Kawelolauhuku.
She was born the daughter of Kawelomahamahaia, 16th Alii Aimoku of Kauai and his wife Queen Kapohinakalani. Her father was known to be a great king. Her family was quite large; she had five siblings: Prince Kawelomakualua, the heir; the Prince Kaweloikiakoo, the Prince Kooakapoko, Princess Kaawihiokalani, future Queen Consort of Kauai; and the Princess Malaiakalani, mother of Kaweloleimakua by Maihuna.
There has been doubt of her parentage and there is a possibility she may have been a sister or niece of Kawelomahamahaia. Since it is nowhere clearly stated, but the course of events and the tenor of the legends make it extremely credible that Kawelomahamahaia was her father. This may have been the top reason that Kualii was able to inherit the Kauaian throne after the Kawelo civil war.
She married Kahoowaha-o-Kalani, son of Kanekapu and the Moi of Oahu. With Kahoowaha, she mothered a son named Kauakahi-a-Kahoowaha (Kauakahi of Kahoowaha), who would succeed to the throne. She became the grandmother of Kualii, who inherited the Kingdom of Kauai after the disposition of the last Kawelo, Kaweloamaihuna a.k.a Kaweloleimakua, the nephew of Kawelolauhuki.
