Location

It lies on the Thiruvananthapuram - Neyyar Dam route, around 18 km north-east of Thiruvananthapuram city. It is well connected by road. Bus services run by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), originating from Thampanoor, ply between Thiruvananthapuram and Kattakada via Thirumala , Peyadu , Malayinkeezhu. There are also bus services connecting Kattakada to other major cities and towns in the state. KSRTC has a bus depot at Kattakada with a new shopping complex.Volvo buses which connects neyyardam - trivandrum - kovalam frequently.
