Katpadi Junction (Tamil: காட்பாடி சந்திப்பு Telugu: కాట్పడి జంక్షను) is located in the city of Vellore. The station is located on Chennai - Bangalore and Villupuram - Tirupati lines. It is located at the northern end of the city on Chittor Highway connecting CuddaloreTamil Nadu and Chittoor Andhra Pradesh[1] [2]
The station is served by 5 platforms, of which platforms 4 and 5 primarily serve trains bound from\to Vellore Cantonment and from\to Andhra Pradesh.It is the prestigious railway junction because chennai-bangalore shatabdi express stops here,this is the only junction shatabdi stops between chennai-bangalore.And also expect mysore shatabdi all super fast trains stops here.totally 150 trains crossing katpadi(vellore)junction everyday.[3][4]
Platforms 1 to 3 primarily serve trains bound to Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore and Kerala directions.[5]

A food plaza maintained by IRCTC is located on platforms 1 and 2. Platform 1, 2 and 3 platforms also have refreshment stalls, ranging from Aavin milk booth to Fruit stalls. Waiting rooms are present in platforms 1, 2 and 3.[6]

Car parking is in the southern end of the station, oppposite to the main entrance. Bike parking is further inside, close to railway staff quarters
