Karol Bielecki (born 23 January 1982 in Sandomierz) is a Polish handball player, currently under contract at Rhein-Neckar Löwen. He also is a star of Poland national handball team. Bielecki won team silver medal in the World Handball Championship in 2007 and bronze in 2009. He is known for his powerful throws. His Polish clubs have been Vive Kielce and Wisła Sandomierz.
On June 11, 2010, Bielecki suffered a severe eye injury during a test match against Croatia. After additional tests and eye surgeries, it turned out that his left eye will remain blind.[1] Although he first said that his years as a player were over, he decided to continue his career - he now plays in special goggles and has scored 11 goals in his Bundesliga debut after the injury.[2]
