Kannonkoski is a municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality has a population of 1,570 (31 January 2011)[2] and covers an area of 549.62 square kilometres (212.21 sq mi) of which 104.87 km2 (40.49 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 3.53 inhabitants per square kilometre (9.1 /sq mi).
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
February 22, 1971: a schoolbus and a rail car collided at a level crossing 2,5 miles north from Kannonkoski station, six children were killed and some passengers were slightly injured.
