Kakarbhitta is a Mechinagar Municipality in Jhapa District in the Mechi Zone of south-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 21,366 people living in 4147 individual households.[1]
Kankarbhitta is also the eastern terminus of Nepal's east-west Mahendra Highway and a border crossing on the eastern border with India. After Birjung, kakarbhitta is the second important border of Nepal for the import and export. With the increasing population and newly built Border Management Offices, has increased the job opportunities in this area.
