Kaltix Corp. (commonly known as Kaltix) was a web search engine that was formed by Stanford University in June 2003 in Palo Alto, California. It was established to personalise and contextualise web searches by designers Taher Haveliwala, Glen Jeh and Sepandar Kamvar.[1] In August 2003, the company's Page Rank system, designed to show results based on the individual requirements of the user, was rumoured soon to outrank Google's consensus approach.[2] On September 30, 2003, Kaltix was acquired by Google for an undisclosed figure.[3]
