Kallu

Kallu are Jat clan found in found in the province of Pakistani Punjab and the Indian state of Punjab.

They are largely Muslim, and found mainly in the districts of Chakwal, Khushab, and Sargodha, although Kallu villages are found throughout Punjab. According to some traditions, the Kallu and Kahlon Jats are descended from a common ancestor.[1]

Kallu villages in Chakwal District include Kallu, and Kallu near Kallar Kahar, and in Gujrat District Kalu Sahi Kalan, and Kalu Sahi Khurd are important villages.

Kallu Jats of the Sikh faith are found in East Punjab, in particular in Jalandhar District. In that district Muslim Kallu Jats were found in the village of Pachranga, while Sikh Kallu Jats were found in Mutadallur in Philaur Tehsil. The Muslim of Pachranga emigrated to Pakistan at the time of partition.[2]
