Kaleb Canales
Kaleb Canales (born 1978) is an assistant basketball coach for the Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA.
Early career
Born in Laredo, Texas, Canales is a graduate of John B. Alexander High School and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in kinesiology.[1][2] He later earned a master's degree in sports leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.[2]
Canales began his coaching career as an assistant coach at United High School and Martin High School, both in Laredo, and then at the college level at Texas-Arlington.[1][3]
NBA coaching career
In 2005, Canales was hired as a video intern for the Portland Trail Blazers, and was eventually hired as the team's video coordinator. In 2009, he was promoted to an assistant coach for the team.[1][4] In 2010, Canales served as the Blazers' head coach during the NBA Summer League.[5]
