Kakira is a town in Eastern Uganda. It is the location of the International headquarters of the Madhvani Group.

Kakira is located in Jinja District, approximately 10 miles (16 km) east of downtown Jinja on the highway to Iganga.[1] The coordinates of the town are:00 30 00N, 33 16 48E (Latitude:0.5000; Longitude:33.2800).
Kakira is the location of the headquarters of the Madhvani Group conglomerate. On a 9,500 hectares (37 sq mi) estate, the Group owns a sugarcane farm and a sugar manufacturing complex, Kakira Sugar Works. They also own a sweets & confectionery factory, Kakira Sweets & Confectioneries Limited. Also on the estate the Group has an electricity generating plant, producing 22MW of power for use on the complex with the excess sold to the Ugandan national grid. Narshibhai Naran Pankhania and family are well known in Kakira. The Madhvani estate at Kakira employs in excess of 7,500 people.[2] The Madhvani Group also own a private 100-bed hospital; Kakira Hospital and a private airport, Kakira Airport, (ICAO: HUKK).[3]
