Company Background

Kainos is a privately held company based in Northern Ireland. Established in 1986, as a joint venture between Fujitsu and The Queen's University of Belfast business incubation unit QUBIS, Kainos was one of Northern Ireland's first campus companies .[1]

Today Kainos has 260 consultants in four locations, Belfast, Dublin, London and Gdansk, Poland.

The word Kainos comes from ancient Greek and stands for new or fresh.

Kainos provides consulting services in the areas of IT strategy, business case development, technology sourcing and implementation.

The company specialises in the area of Electronic Document and Records Management (EDRMS), building solutions for customers in both the public and private sector.

Kainos also has a near-shore support service that is based in Northern Ireland.

In 2007 Kainos launched their speech recognition unit as a separate operating division of Kainos and called it SpeechStorm[2]. SpeechStorm provides automated solutions for call centres, including touch tone, SMS, speech and visual IVR.
