The station was once known as KWHO, which shared call signs with what is now KKAT. Prior to 1995, KUBL was also known as KLZX, which became a competitor to KRSP-FM and carried a classic hits format. In May 1995, the station became KUBL and the current country format was adopted. The station has since become Utah's New Country Leader.[2]
The current lineup (as of August 26, 2010) Starting out the day on the morning drive from 5:30am-10am is The Morning Moo Crew with Shotgun Jackson & Producer Matt Ramone. The morning show was nominated in 2010 for an Academy of Country Music award for Large Market. Next is the midday show from 10am-3pm. Holding down the afternoon drive from 3pm-7pm is The Outlaw Pat Garrett. Wrapping up your evening from 7pm-12am is Cornbread Cody Alan, and howlin' at the moon all night is Coyote McCoy, who brings in the new day!
Weekends/Fill-ins include Matt Ramone, Andy Waits, Kent Black, Ty Austin, and Jill Montana. KUBL's program director is Ed Hill.
In addition to the main station, KUBL-FM is relayed by an additional translator to widen its broadcast area.
