KPXC-TV, channel 59, is a television station licensed to Denver, Colorado that broadcasts on UHF channel 43. The station is an affiliate of the ION Television network in Denver, Colorado and is owned and operated by ION Media Networks.
KPXC first went on the air September 10, 1987 as KUBD. Originally, the station aired financial news during the day and various shows at night. When the Financial News Network ended broadcasts in 1989 (after being absorbed by CNBC), KUBD became the original Denver-area affiliate for Telemundo. Paxson Communications bought KUBD in 1996 and changed its call letters to KPXC-TV on February 2, 1998.
For about two years early in the 2000s, KPXC carried select games of the Colorado Avalanche hockey team.
When NBC partnered with PAX TV in the late 1990s, KPXC rebroadcast KUSA's 6:00 & 10:00PM newscasts Monday through Friday. This ended in 2005, when NBC ended its agreement with PAX.
