History

The station went on the air as KPUP on 2000-08-02. on 2003-07-22, the station changed its call sign to the current KPKK.[2]

According to FCC records, the station ceased broadcasting in February 2008 due to "adverse financial conditions". The latest request to remain silent was filed in September 2008, but has not been approved by the FCC. (The FCC doesn't normally accept "We're broke" as a reason to retain a license when a station ceases broadcasting)
