KKUS (104.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Classic Country format. Licensed to Tyler, Texas, USA, the station serves the Tyler-Longview area. The station is currently owned by Access.1 Texas License Company LLC and features programing from Fox News Radio.[2]
The on air staff includes Mike Sebastian, Charlie O' Douglas, and Radio Broadcast legend Tom Perryman. In the late 1940s Tom started his career at 1400 The KEBE Corral in Jacksonville, Texas, In the mid-1950s Tom was at KSIJ 1430 in Gladewater, Texas, which is where he brought Elvis to East Texas, and gave "The King" some of his first work. Then Tom went on to host the Opry Star Spotlight on The Air Castle of the South 650 WSM in Nashville, as well as becoming one of the most famous Opry annoncers of all time. Before leaving WSM he hired his replacement, Ralph Emery.
The station went on the air as KGKB on 1989-12-07. on 1990-04-16, the station changed its call sign to KTMJ, on 1992-10-01 to the current KKUS,[3]
