KFGI-FM 101.5 has a "Variety Hits" format, known locally as "Sam FM." The station serves the Brainerd and Baxter region of central Minnesota. It's studios are at 212 N 5th Street, in Brainerd. The transmitter site is on County 6, between Crosby and Emily.
It's original "KQ101.5" Classic Rock format, had originated at co-owned KQDS-FM in Duluth. The "SAM FM" format became effective Sept. 1, 2011. It's KFGI's fourth format change in the last decade, going from country to oldies in 2002, and then back to country in 2004 after an ownership change, and then to classic rock in 2007.
