KERI broadcast a News/talk format as Newstalk 1410 KERN until January 1, 2009, when a frequency swap with sister station 1180 AM (previously KERI) was completed. The KERN call sign had been used on the 1410 AM frequency for 76 years until they were moved to 1180 AM on December 30, 2008.
The station is owned by American General Media and among its sister stations are soft adult contemporary KGFM, adult hits KKXX-FM, sports radio KGEO, News/talk station KERN, top 40 station KISV, and Regional Mexican station KEBT.
