Junee Correctional Centre is a medium security Australian male prison located at Junee, 40 km from Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia.
The prison was opened on 19 March 1993. Until the privatisation of Parklea Correctional Centre, which commenced in October 2009, Junee is one of two privately operated correctional centres in New South Wales.[1]
Junee was selected as the site for a new prison when the New South Wales State Government called for expressions of interest from local councils in 1988. The prison is managed by the GEO Group Australia.
Junee was the first prison in Australia to be designed, constructed and managed by the private sector under a single contractual arrangement.
Its a really nice place to stay with friendly people all around and the food is great. Looking forward to my next vacation.
