Julio Lamas

Julio Lamas (born June 9, 1964) is an Argentine basketball coach. He currently manages both the Argentina national basketball team and Obras Sanitarias.

Lamas has won 3 Liga Nacional de Básquet (Argentine League) championships: the 1996–97 season with Boca Juniors, the 2004–05 with Ben Hur and the 2007–08 with Libertad de Sunchales.[1] He also won the Liga Sudamericana with Ben Hur in 2006. Lamas has also coached in Spain: Tau Cerámica (1999–2000), Lucentum Alicante (with which he won the LEB and the Copa Príncipe in 2002) and Real Madrid (2003–2004).

Lamas coached the Argentina national basketball team in the 1998 FIBA World Championship. He was also assistant coach to Sergio Hernández in the 2008 Olympics (bronze medal).[1] On December 16, 2010, he was officially announced as the Argentine national team head coach, replacing Sergio Hernández.[2]
