Julian Wolpert (born 1933) is Bryant Professor Emeritus of Geography, Public Affairs, and Urban Planning at Princeton University[1]. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison[2], has been a fellow at the Russell Sage Foundation[3], and has been a Guggenheim fellow[4]. Wolpert is a nationally cited scholar in the field of charity and philanthropy in the United States, and has testified before Congress[5]. He has challenged Marvin Olasky and other conservatives who believe that charity is the best way to care for the needy and poor[6].
