Julia Johnson

Julia Johnson is a London-born singer-songwriter and a founder-member of Post Trip-Hop band Second Person. Her first solo album, I Am Not The Night, recorded at Livingston Recording Studios and produced by Tristan Ivemy (Frank Turner, The Holloways), was released in May 2011 through the independent label Blue January.

Trivia

• Julia is well versed in several classical languages including Sanskrit and Greek. She has an understanding of Mandarin, Spanish and Italian allowing Second Person to record some of their best known songs in these languages. The band have suggested that translated versions of these songs may appear as bonus tracks in the various regions they are released in.[1]
• Julia also wrote her first stage musical at the age of 15, entitled A Young Man With Conjunctivitis, for which she was the musical director.
• At the age of 18, she began playing solo gigs at The Kashmir Klub, prior to forming Second Person with Mark Maclaine in 2002. She currently performs her own solo material in London and elsewhere in the UK.
• In May 2009 Julia was one of the featured artists at London Songwriters Week [2]
• Julia played at the Launch of the 2010 Bird's Eye View Film Festival in January 2010. [3]
• She plays a monthly residency at The Troubadour[4] and performed at Bestival in September 2011.
