José Manuel González-Páramo (born in Madrid, 1958) is a Spanish economist who has been a Member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank[1] since June 2004.
González-Páramo studied Economics in Spain and, as a Fulbright Scholar, in the United States. He was awarded a PhD in economics from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) in 1985 and another, also in economics, from Columbia University in 1986. He has written a number of books and articles about fiscal and monetary policy.[2]
