John Robinson Leopold (born February 4, 1943) is an American Republican politician and was formerly a member of the Maryland House of Delegates. In 2006, he was elected Anne Arundel County Executive.

Born in Philadelphia on February 4, 1943, County Executive John R. Leopold was raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Hamilton College in 1964 with a B.A. in English. Before moving to Maryland, he was a long-time resident of Honolulu, where he served in the Hawaii State House of Representatives from 1970 to 1974 and the Hawaii State Senate from 1974 to 1978.
Leopold was the first Republican ever elected to the Hawaii State Board of Education, where he served as a member of the Board from 1968 until 1970, prior to his being elected to the Hawaii State House of Representatives in 1970.
Leopold became the seventh Anne Arundel County Executive on December 4, 2006, after serving the citizens of District 31 for 20 years in the Maryland House of Delegates. He was the first Republican Delegate ever to be elected in District 31.
Leopold holds the distinction of being the only elected official in the United States to have been elected to office in Hawaii and Maryland after residing in each state only one year. He was also the State Director for Planned Parenthood while in Hawaii.
